1 THE SANCTUARY
WHICH IS TO BE CLEANSED [Dan.
8:14] IS THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY. GC
417-422; PP
343-358. “… The actual
cleansing at the HEAVENLY sanctuary is to be accomplished
by the removal of blotting out , of sins which are THERE
recorded.” GC
421, 422 – the sins, which are sent
beforehand to judgment. 1
Timothy 5:24
2 THERE IS A
“DECIDED RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CLEANSING OF THE HEAVENLY
SANCTUARY AND THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF GOD’S PEOPLE ON
EARTH. “The passing
of time in 1844 was a period of great events opening to our
astonished eyes the cleansing of the sanctuary transpiring in
heaven. AND HAVING DECIDED RELATION TO GOD’S PEOPLE UPON THE
EARTH. …” CWE
30. “… the prophecy of Dan.
8:14…. Painted to the
closing work of our High Priest in heaven the finishing
of the atonement, AND THE PREPARING OF THE PEOPLE
to abide the day of His coming.” 1T
58. WHILE
the investigative judgment is GOING FORWARD in heaven WHILE the
sins of penitent believers ARE BEING REMOVED
from the heavenly sanctuary, there is to be a special
work of purification OF
PUTTING AWAY OF SIN AMONG GOD’S PEOPLE ON EARTH. This work is
more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation.” GC
425. See also Ev
224; 5T 575.
We are in the day of atonement and we are to work in
harmony with Christ’s work of cleansing the sanctuary from the
sins of the people. … Thos who do not sympathize with Jesus in
His work in the heavenly courts, who do not cleanse the soul
temple of every defilement, .. are joining the enemy of God and
man. …” RH
Jan. 21, 1890. “WHILE CHRIST IS CLEANSING
THE SANCTUARY, the worshippers
or earth should carefully review their life and compare their
character with the standard of righteousness.” RH
April 8, 1890.

4 THE CLEANSING OF
THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY AND THE BLOTTING OUT OF SINS FROM THE
HEAVENLY SANCTUARY IS ONE AND THE SAME EVENT OR EXPERIENCE. See
references on bullet 2 of this section. God is now investigating
character, sealing His people, and blotting out sin from the
heavenly sanctuary. TM
448.
5 THE CLEANSING OF
THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY [Dan.
8:14] AND
THE BLOTTING OUT OF SINS [Acts
3:19; Hebrew
9] ARE
ACCOMPLISHED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME [ 1844 TO THE CLOSE OF
PROBATION]. It is not confined or limited to one single,
instantaneous act after National Sunday Law or just before the
close of probation. [See quotes under # 2 in this section.
6 THE CLEANSING OF
THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY IS CONTINGENT UPON THE CLEANSING OF OUR
BODY TEMPLES, by sending our sins “beforehand to judgment.”1SM
124. We should not try to divorce these two great
subjects or experiences which are inseparably connected. Neither
should we confuse the two or try to fuse them into one and the
same experience. There are [1] two different temples in [2] two
different places. [3] cleansed in two different ways. [4] at two
different times! The
cleansing of the soul temple is distinctly different from the
cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary. But the heavenly sanctuary
cannot be cleansed until the soul temples of God’s people are
cleansed. The heavenly sanctuary cannot be cleansed as long as
we continue to sin and thus defile it. See
quotations under# 2 in this section.
7 OUR SINS ARE
BLOTTED OUT OF THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY BEFORE THE CLOSE OF
PROBATION. When Jesus leaves the sanctuary, all of our sins will
have been blotted out.” EW 48. Christ removes the sins of His
people from the heavenly sanctuary at the close of His
ministration [1844 to the close of probation] GC
422; EW
280, 281. Although Christ has always been
ministering in behalf of sinners in the heavenly sanctuary, He
did not begin to cleanse it and blot out the record of sin until
October
22, 1844; Daniel
8:14.
